Campus to Host Ohio Masonic Home Day on June 6

OHIO MASONIC HOME DAY 2010

Springfield Masonic Community will host the 26th annual Ohio Masonic Home Day event on Sunday, June 6.

Home Day will run from 11 a.m. until around 4 p.m. at Springfield Masonic Community, 2655 West National Road at the intersection of Route 68 and Route 40.

This year’s highlight will feature a special ceremony honoring the many veterans who served our country in the Korean and Vietnam wars with the dedication of two monuments. This will take place in front of Bushnell Hall, the castle building, at noon and run around an hour. Grand Master Terry W. Posey, who led the project, will officiate the ceremony.

Springfield Masonic Community is pleased to have “The Moving Wall” Vietnam Veterans Memorial on display for Ohio Masonic Home Day. “The Moving Wall” is a half-size replica of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington, D.C.

The memorial is dedicated to the 2.7 million men and women who served in the U.S. military in Vietnam. It lists the names of 58,253 people who lost their lives, and unaccounted for prisoners of war and those missing in action.

Here is the official program for more on Home Day 2010.

All activities, unless noted, will take place behind the Hillman and Rickly buildings. Check this page for further updates. For more information, call 888-290-2664 or 937-525-4952.

*The restaurant in the Carl and Edyth Lindner Community Center will be open until 6 p.m. for sit-down dining.
