Volunteer
Volunteers Earn Resident Admiration, Community Gratitude
More than 64 million Americans annually volunteer their time and talents to hospitals, nursing homes, schools and other community organizations to perform critical needs. Volunteering is part of the American culture of service, citizenship and responsibility.
Volunteers who serve at The Ohio Masonic Home campuses provide essential services to residents. Volunteers escort residents to their physician appointments or beauty shop appointments, read to them, write letters for them, provide office administrative assistance, staff welcome centers and give campus tours to visitors. Where there is a need, there is a volunteer to accomplish it.
These volunteers are a source of help for staff and visitors too. They staff our Information Desk and Gift Shop, help in the Post Office, label and stuff envelopes and take guests on campus tours.
Who are these volunteers? Most of them are residents who live here. They consider their volunteer time a responsibility as well as a social outlet. Other volunteers come from surrounding communities, colleges and high schools. Some are even employees and their families. Volunteers are valuable, highly prized and sought after for all the good things they do for our residents, and we never have enough of them!
If you would like to become a volunteer, call the Volunteer Services Department to set up an appointment to find out what kind of opportunities are available and where your specific talents and/or interests can be used. Complete an application, attend an orientation, have a TB skin test, receive a mutually agreed upon assignment and you're on your way! Facility staff will provide you with training. We're looking forward to hearing from you. Discover your talents. Discover the world of volunteering.
